Oswego’s Village Hall clock tower is illuminated in blue and yellow in a show of support for the people of Ukraine.

Oswego Public Works employees suggested the village change the clock tower’s colors to the colors of the Ukrainian flag in honor of the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against the Russian invasion.

Staff received the support of the administration and village trustees to make the change.

“Some employees in Public Works thought it would be a good idea. Typically they are in charge of the colors in the clock tower,” Oswego Village President Troy Parlier said.

The village board has been supportive of the people of Ukraine, he said.

“It’s a natural idea supported by our staff and trustees. Our message is that we support people who are defending their rights to freedom and self-determination,” Parlier said.
