Open house on library parking deck set for Tuesday
An open house on a parking deck proposed for a site next to the Nichols Library will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the library’s community room, 200 W. Jefferson Ave.
The city of Naperville will present plans and collect input on the proposal, which was put on hold in 2008 because of the economic recession. The final design included four levels of parking with more than 500 parking spaces and a library book drop.
Residents can view exhibits and provide feedback to city officials attending the event.

Forest preserve district celebrates 95th anniversary
In recognition of its 95th anniversary, the Forest Preserve District of Will County is issuing a “Spring Ninety-fiver Challenge” in which residents are encouraged to walk, run or bike 95 miles now through June 30.
All 95 miles must be done in a Will County forest preserve and can be any combination of walking, running or biking. Other activities, such as roller blading and roller skating, are also allowed as long as forest preserve rules are followed, a news release said.
Participants can use an app such as Runkeeper to record their miles and upload a screenshot of their total miles once the challenge has been completed.
An online form and downloadable paper submission form are available on the district’s website, www.reconnectwithnature.org.
Participants who complete the challenge will receive a small wallet with a zippered pouch. Submissions must be received by July 15 to be eligible for the prize.
