Sad state of affairs: Historians compare Putin to Hitler? Both dictatorships control their citizens based on lies created to justify raiding their neighbors and dictating the rights of their citizens. Hearing some of our politicians praising Putin while attacking our president is politics without patriotism? These same deniers of the “big lie” are also promoting obstructing selected citizens of their rights to vote. Where is our democracy headed?

To eat or to drive? People are justifiably concerned with rising gas prices but have you checked out the cost of lettuce lately? The last I looked it was over $3 and I’m thoroughly confused that it’s cheaper to drive a car than eat a salad.

Trump knew how to negotiate: Some people are letting their hatred of Donald Trump cloud their view of reality. How do you keep peace? You negotiate. You negotiate with leaders of other countries. You don’t get on TV and rattle your rubber sword. Under Donald Trump, we saw the closest thing to world peace in the last 100 years, a thriving economy, energy independence and historically, not artificially, low unemployment. Who wouldn’t want that?

What’s happening is simple: Why do Republicans want to bring up Biden or NATO when discussing what’s going on in Ukraine? It’s simple. A dictator doesn’t like the growing democracy movement that is close by. People from Ukraine don’t want to go back to Communism, that’s the reality.

He didn’t know everything: While Nostradamus predicted a war in Europe and the demise of a dictator both occurring in 2022, he said nothing about the current baseball strike or whether or not Adele will ever appear in Vegas so what’s the big deal anyway?

Packaging too ‘sophisticated’: Being a senior citizen, I find it very difficult to open molded plastic packaging. I often think the “sophisticated” packaging is worth more than the product itself.

What a state: I’m calling to tell you how messed up our Illinois government system is. My husband has been deceased since January 2016, yet somebody got ahold of his Social Security number in 2020 and got over $37,000 worth of unemployment. My husband in his lifetime never made $37,000 a year. That tells me Illinois doesn’t even check the numbers to see if the person is deceased.
