I pray for Ukraine
My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine. I hope we are not witnessing the total destruction of Ukraine, and the freedom of democracy that they have been enjoying. This invasion should have never occurred. Maybe President Biden, Vice President Harris, House Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Schumer, Representatives Nadler, Schiff, Omar, Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley could all get together and come up with a plan to get us out of this mess that is occurring on their watch. I’ll take all the mean tweets any day, instead of all the failures that we had witnessed with this administration over the past year. I pray that we are not witnessing what may be in store for other countries and ours as well.
Carrier pigeon would have been way faster
I have read a few entries to Talk of the County about people getting their water bills two days before their payment is due. You do know you can sign up for autopay on the internet thingy. It’s quick and convenient. Get your bill at the beginning of the month, and it is automatically deducted from your checking account at the end of the month. Plus you save the cost of a stamp. It’s a win-win. To accuse the Waukegan mayor or water department of purposely sending out bills late to make money on late fees is ludicrous. If you want to blame anyone, blame the Postal Service. There are days I don’t get any mail, plus at least twice a month I get my neighbors’ mail. The Postal Service has really gone down the tubes, and COVID has made the Postal Service a joke. I sent a birthday card to my mom in northern Wisconsin, and it took a week and a half to get there. Carrier pigeon would have been way faster.
No fan of lawyers
So Eric Rinehart is concerned about “the terror” that Martell Williams went through during a police interview. What about the terror that the victim went through? Williams attorney, who tries his cases in front of the media rather than a jury, has come off of his McDonald’s meal claim after seeing the video of the interview. If the police don’t offer food to those being interviewed, this same attorney would claim that a confession is invalid because his client was deprived of food. A note to Rinehart — crime is out of control, so you may want to lock criminals up instead of letting them run loose. I’d rather my daughter be a prostitute than a member of the state’s attorney’s office or an ambulance-chasing defense attorney.

I’ve been listening to former President Trump’s rhetoric, while he sends kisses and praises to Putin over the Ukraine invasion, and that this would never have happened under his watch. You’ve got to wonder, is that because he wanted to pull out from NATO in order to follow his best buddy Putin’s example of leadership here in the United States? He certainly has tried to kill our Constitution, democracy and defies our laws. After all, Trump makes it no secret how he admires Russia and North Korea’s communist, authoritarian and totalitarian governments, and how they control and brainwash their people. Isn’t this bordering on treason?
Nothing has been done
The invasion of Ukraine has left a lot of destruction from Russia and the military. The United States has also be invalided over 60 years ago with the illegals crossing our southern border. And nothing has been done about that from our government.
