Never an admirable trait
I knew the moment I saw the photo in the newspaper that Mundelein’s new sculpture was the work of Bruce Niemi. Mundelein should consider itself a cultural destination, along with Kenosha’s Lakeshore Sculpture Walk where some of Bruce’s work is found. How petty of some in the community to discriminate because of the name of the sculpture. The community could always rename it a hokey historical name like “Area Reborn.” A sculpture can be uplifting and exhilarating, like a melodic song or thought-provoking poem. A critical, biased attitude is never an admirable trait.

Remember how people believed Trump was put in office by Putin and Russian agents influencing our election process? Well, I don’t seem to remember Russians threatening to invade a sovereign country like Ukraine when Trump was in office. It begs the question, if Russia was such a friend of Trump don’t you think they would have invaded Ukraine when their puppet Trump was in office because there would be no consequences? The truth is Putin and the Russian government prefer weak on foreign policy Democrats when they are in power. Biden is being tested and believe you me, China and North Korea are watching.
It’s time to stop already
When is the media going to stop with this Rittenhouse kid? Today’s News Sun had two articles on the kid’s request to have the gun he used to murder two people destroyed. OK, so destroy it. We don’t need to have the paper cluttered up with this non-information. Also, I don’t care that his lawyers are squabbling over who gets his bail money, and how much. This is not news anymore. It’s over thanks to that senile old man on the bench who saw to it that the prosecution had their hands tied and couldn’t get a conviction. This was a travesty from the beginning. It’s time to stop already. No more Rittenhouse.
Good riddance
Gee, I’m so sad to see the cheater Tom Brady retire. No matter how good he has been for those 22 years, he will always be remembered also as a cheater who couldn’t do what’s right. He should have been punished a lot more severely, and there’s no way he’ll be an example for young kids growing up. Good riddance in seeing him go. I was a fan, but that stopped when he decided he had to cheat to try to stay on top.
Get out and vote to save your money
Midterm elections do not attract many voters. This is an election to slip in many tax increases. A tax increase for Warren High School is to pay for students parking their personal cars. We are taxed for bus service already. A big tax is for pension plans for teachers and public workers in different departments, and cities and the county. Why do we get taxed when these people earn a wage sometimes above $80,000. I’m on Social Security and get $15,000 a year. This tax includes anybody that has a house. Renters, your rent will also increase. Get out and vote to save your money from going to the wage earners.

Not realizing he’s at a “hot microphone,” Biden calls White House correspondent Peter Doocy a “stupid SOB.” Gee, could it be that underneath those carefully combed hair plugs; behind those gleaming tooth veneers; beneath that tightened, tightened, lifted face; there lives a soul with a very Trumpian attitude toward his fellow man? Say it ain’t so. Not good ol’ Uncle Joe.
