Firefighters responded to the 9:46 a.m. call about a fire in the 2900 block of Kilburne Lane and arrived to find heavy flames coming from the garage, the report said. The building was checked twice to ensure all of the residents had been evacuated.
The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes, and the residents of two units told they could not return to their homes because of smoke and water damage, the report said.
A firefighter received a minor injury but no one else was hurt, the report said.
Because of the size of the complex involved, three fire engines, two ladder trucks, one heavy rescue squad, two ambulances and 24 fire personnel were dispatched, the fire department said.
The Naperville Fire Investigation Team is working to determine the fire’s source, the report said.
