Postmaster general’s actions ‘degrading’ postal service
The recent announcement by the current U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy that effective Oct. 1 the U.S. Postal Service will be revising (i.e., lowering) the delivery window for certain first-class mail items up to five days has made me wonder.
If the United States can evacuate over 115,000 people from Afghanistan during the last two weeks of August, why can’t the Biden administration and the Postal Service Board of Governors find a postmaster general who can improve mail service instead of degrading it?

Benet’s actions demonstrate hypocrisy of Catholic church
With all of the controversy currently being attached to Benet Academy in Lisle regarding the homophobia that initially derailed the appointment of a lacrosse coach, I’ve yet to read any editorial connecting the hypocrisy of that academic institution and the handling of pedophile priests by the Catholic church.
I have to wonder how many of the clergy who taught, lectured or conducted services at the school were in fact members of the LGBTQ community? How many were known offenders and were not turned away like the applicant for the lacrosse job, who only had her job offer reinstated after public pressure?
The last thing Benet, or the Catholic church, needed was another scandal and yet the school brought it to their own doorstep with a narrow mindedness that is typical of an institution favoring medieval dogma to modern-day thinking.
