Glenview police are asking for the public’s help as they search for the driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run last month.

On Thursday, police said they believe a gray or silver 2017 or 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport was involved in the Aug. 21 hit-and-run in which a 59-year-old bicyclist from nearby Wheeling was killed. The vehicle had damage to the front driver’s side headlight and front bumper, police said.

Police on Thursday said they are still investigating the crash that occurred shortly after 3 a.m. near Sanders Road and South Parkway Drive in Glenview. The bicyclist, Trinidad Salgado, 59, was transported to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Glenview police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force’s Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact Glenview police at 847-729-5000 or the Glenview police tip line at 847-901-6055.
