Two men shot during an altercation in Naperville Sunday afternoon — one of whom was critically injured — were found in Aurora and taken to area hospitals, Naperville police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired about 2:10 p.m. in the 600 block of Amersale Drive but arrived to find no one in the area, a report said.

A short time later, Aurora police responded to a 911 call from the two injured men in the area of McCoy and Vaughn drives, police said.

An 18-year-old Naperville man was listed in critical condition as of Monday and the— 17-year-old Aurora man he was with was treated and released from an Aurora hospital, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a fight that occurred when the parties met to make a transaction, the report said.

“The exact relationship of the offender and victims and the nature of the transaction remain under investigation,” police said.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, fled in a dark-colored sedan.
