With the state transitioning to its full reopening phase, the Oak Park Public Library announced all of its library branches will be open for expanded hours beginning early next month.
The library’s Dole Branch, 255 Augusta St., will officially reopen to patrons at 10 a.m. July 6, while the Main Branch, 834 Lake St., and the Maze Branch, 845 Gunderson Ave., will operate under expanded hours beginning July 5.
Fully-vaccinated patrons will not be required to wear a face covering to enter or remain inside the buildings, but masks will be encouraged. Since children under the age of 12 cannot be vaccinated yet, staff is asking all patrons to wear a mask in the Main Library’s children’s services area and at the Maze Branch.
“People and safety continue to drive our decisions,” library director David Seleb said. “Our COVID-19 response plan continues to evolve. As your needs continue to change, we will continue to change.”

As of July 5, study room reservations will also be available to patrons.
Services now available to all visitors include in-person staff assistance in the lobby and at all service desks, holds pickup available in the lobby, public computers, outdoor events and a wide range of virtual services.
This fall, the library expects to offer onsite devices, furniture and toys in its children’s services areas, in-person meeting room reservations and in-person indoor events, workshops and classes.
