The youth services staff and committee of Oak Park and River Forest townships have announced the start of its annual back-to-school supply drive to help students prepare for the 2021-22 school year.
The supplies will be collected through Aug. 6, and will be distributed free of charge to youth in the community at a drive-thru event, which is expected to take place Aug. 20.
Donations drop boxes will be placed at the Oak Park Township office, 105 S. Oak Park Ave., and will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Online orders can also be placed through Amazon through the township’s wish list link, and will be shipped directly to the township offices.
Among the supplies requested include brand new paper, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, highlighters, crayons, markers, folders and more, which will be distributed to school-aged youth in Oak Park and River Forest. Cash donations and Amazon gift cards will also be accepted.
Cash and gift cards can be delivered to Oak Park Township receptionist Keera Scott.
More information about the back-to-school supply drive is available by calling youth services at 708-445-2727 or emailing Moriah Gale at [email protected].
