Score one for our side
I hope that Waukegan does rename the school after the Obamas — not because his presidency was so extraordinary, but because every bitter, angry conservative will hold their breath, stomp their feet and have their hissy fits every time they pass by this school. In our era of hyper-partisanship, I say score one for our side. Bravo.

Don’t change the names
This is just another call regarding changing the school names. You know, it’s ridiculous when you stop to think. What is it, 80 or 90 people in the whole city of Waukegan who got together and put their heads together to change the names? That should not be allowed. It should be thousands of people from day one when the school opened until now, and have those people vote and see how many really, really think it should be changed. It is a shame, because Jefferson was president of the United States. He stands for good people. He did lots for the country. I just don’t understand. It’s pathetic. I think it’s terrible that they’re changing the names.
Make them pay
I see we haven’t heard much from Trump and Giuliani lately, since Dominion voting slapped that billion and a half dollar lawsuit on them. That’s what they need to do. They want to talk about fraud, and corruption and election stealing, tell them to put up or shut up. Then they’ll either have to put up the facts — of which they have none — or they’ll have to admit the election was fair and free. If they want to lie about it, take them to court and make them pay.
You can’t erase that
So, you have activists who object to renaming a Waukegan school in honor of Barack Obama because he deported 3 million people during his time in office. They were deported because they were here illegally. Yet, these mental dwarfs want to remove the Obama name from consideration because he upheld the laws of the land? Give me a break. It’s ridiculous to rename the Jefferson school to begin with. He did what was commonplace during the era. You can’t erase that from the books.
Ruling by decree
I am one of the many Waukegan residents who object to the renaming of the public schools. Who do these 80 cancel-culture bullies think they are? None of us is perfect, but really Cesar Chavez and Michelle Obama? They’re just a couple of hypocrites. Cesar Chavez was the son of immigrants that opposed immigration, and Michelle Obama chides whites for moving away from inner city Blacks, and then moves to the whitest, toniest community in the country. I think we still live in a democracy. How about voting on issues instead of ruling by decree?
Suck it up and move on
Who’s bright idea was it to change the name of Waukegan’s schools, Jefferson and Webster? This is history. You can’t erase it. Learn from it, and change things for the better. This changing names you don’t like has gotten out of hand. Suck it up and move on. The more you give in to this nonsense, the more people are going to want. Put your foot down and tell them no. I’m so personally sick of the constant changes of Waukegan. It used to be a great place to live. Wake up, and make Waukegan what it used to be.
It’s all about Trump
I’m thinking the paper is just one-sided, that it will refuse anything that is said about President Biden that is good. If it’s bad, it will be published. It’s all about Trump.
