Pity the fool

To the dumb Republican who wrote they’re not going to wear a diaper over their face: Then don’t wear a diaper over your mouth. Die. You need to get out of Illinois, because we love Dr. Fauci. Dr. Fauci is a good person, and if he tells me to wear a full mask, I’m going to wear it. So go out to Mar-a-Lago and see if Trump will let you live there with him. That’s where you need to be, fool.

Stop the threats

The article in your paper about the Warren Township High School tax referendum was a joke. The overpaid superintendent stated that massive cuts will be made if this referendum doesn’t pass — no sports, shorter school days, more teacher cuts, wow. Wait a minute, he sounds like a typical politician threatening the public if he doesn’t get their way. First of all, we’re in a pandemic, and people are struggling to make ends meet, and you’re begging for a tax increase? No. Not going to happen. Start managing the district like a business with a stern budget, and don’t rely on the taxpayers for a bailout every time you need more money due to overspending. It’s called money management. Start earning your huge paycheck you’re paid instead of threatening the taxpayers.

Not totally free

Are we losing our freedom when we are required to wear a mask in a time of pandemic, as one caller seems to think? Are you free to stand outside someone’s house and shout racial slurs? Is your neighbor free to bring his gun into your yard and start shooting at you? Are you free to drive your car 100 mph down a residential street where children are playing? Are you free to walk naked through town? We are a nation of laws, as well as freedoms. We are a nation which is free to elect the people we think will best enact those laws and preserve our freedom.

14-1

I see where 14 states have a lawsuit against Democratic President Joe Biden over the stoppage of the Keystone Pipeline. Fourteen states with common sense, and one president who can’t stand Americans getting a break on fuel.

We love them

I had my first dose of the COVID vaccine. We went to Greenbelt. They deserve more than kudos. Everything was right. It was a great experience, the people were friendly, the spacing was awesome. Kudos to that whole operation. We love them.

Crossing the line

I bought gas in Wisconsin at $2.49 a gallon, and the price in Gurnee was $3.09. That’s a 60-cents difference for you who are math-challenged. This is not figuring the upcoming 4-cents-a-gallon Lake County increase, and the automatic Illinois tax increase. Wisconsin has better roads and no Tollway costs. Go across the state line, and check them out. See which is the better run state, and why Illinois is hurting for investment and people are leaving.

Electric bill?

I have one question for all those protesting the rise in the gas tax to maintain the roads: I’m just wondering what are you all going to do when you try to drive your cars down the road, when they are electric and there is no income from gas taxes. How will we be able to maintain the roads then?
