Two Chicago police officers were injured in a rear-end crash across the street from Holy Name Cathedral early Thursday, police said.

The officers were in a police vehicle at Superior and State streets in the Near North neighborhood, when, about 1:10 a.m., a man in another car hit theirs from behind, according to police.

The 48-year-old man was driving a silver Nissan Sentra, police said.

Both officers and the man were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to police. All were stable, the Chicago Fire Department said.

No citations were issued, police said.
