Ryan Carpenter and Nicolas Beaudin are added to the COVID-19 list after the Chicago Blackhawks cancel practice — but Sunday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets appears intact

The Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday added forward Ryan Carpenter and defenseman Nicolas Beaudin to the COVID-19 protocol list, joining three teammates on the NHL’s “unavailable” list.

Earlier in the day, the Hawks canceled practice at Fifth Third Arena “out of an abundance of caution due to potential exposure of COVID-19,” the team said.

“The organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines to protect the health and safety of players and staff as set by the NHL as well as local and state agencies,” the Hawks said on their Twitter account.

The Hawks are set to play the Columbus Blue Jackets at 6 p.m. Sunday at the United Center (NBCSCH). The Blue Jackets beat the Hawks 2-1 on Friday night at the UC.

The team indicated it still planned to have a morning skate before the evening game.

The Hawks on Monday placed forward Alex DeBrincat and defenseman Adam Boqvist on the NHL’s COVID-19 list, then added forward Lucas Wallmark to the list Wednesday.
