The FBI is searching for a man who was caught on video firing a rifle on the Metra platform earlier this month.

At 10 a.m. on Dec. 1, the man was caught on video removing a “collapsible rifle” from a backpack on the Metra platform at McCormick Place and firing one shot.

There were no known injuries, authorities said.

The suspect is described as having a brown beard, close-cropped hair and a receding hairline, according to the FBI.

The surveillance video shows the man had a dark complexion, but it’s uncertain from the video what his race or ethnicity is. In the videos, the man is wearing a dark puffy coat with over a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and carrying a gray backpack. In one video, he’s seen running from what appears to be an overpass toward a camera, then seen walking down a station platform as a train leaves the station.

After the train leaves the station, the man, who appears to be wearing headphones, stops at the foot of a stairway that leads up from the platform. He then takes the rifle out of the backpack and appears to check it before firing the shot.
