A 46-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday morning after being hit by a car in Lincolnwood, according to village officials.

The man was believed to have been crossing the street on the north side of Devon Avenue when a car traveling north on McCormick Boulevard hit him, said Charles Meyer, assistant manager of the village of Lincolnwood.

The pedestrian was taken to AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, Meyer said.

The driver, a 21-year-old woman from Chicago, was not injured and has been cooperating with police, Meyer added.

The crash triggered a road closure on McCormick Boulevard between West Pratt Avenue and West Devon Avenue as police investigated.

Lincolnwood officials are asking any witnesses to the crash to call police at 847-673-2167.
