A lakefront wall at Northwestern University’s Ryan Fieldhouse and Walter Athletics Center has won a design award from the American Institute of Architects’ Chicago chapter seen here in Evanston on Nov. 13, 2020. The wall is about 400 feet long and made of precast concrete. It follows a curving path and also curves in profile in order to protect the fieldhouse and athletics center from lake waves.
