A 32-year-old Dolton man was fatally shot Sunday inside his home, police said.

Reshawn Nelson, of the 14700 block of Kenwood Avenue, was shot multiple times just before noon and pronounced dead a short time later at University of Chicago Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Dolton police Chief Ernest Mobley said Nelson might have known the offenders, who left the scene in a vehicle, but the motive for the shooting is currently unclear.

The homicide investigation remains ongoing and no suspects have been identified in the slaying, the chief said.
