A 16-year-old boy was among two people shot late Sunday in a car on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago, according to the Illinois State Police.

The boy and a 23-year-old man were wounded just before 10:50 p.m. in the inbound lanes near Morgan Street, according to a release from state police. The man was driving and the teen was seated in the rear of the car. Four other people inside the car were not injured, police said.

The two were treated at Mount Sinai Hospital.

State police did not release any other details about the shooting.

The shooting prompted troopers to shut down the eastbound lanes until about 2 a.m. Monday while investigating the incident.
