A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot during an argument Sunday night inside an apartment building in the South Side’s Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Around 9:05 p.m. Sunday, the teen and two others were involved in an argument inside an apartment in the 800 block of West 77th Street when “shots were fired,” police said.
The 17-year-old was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead. He was identified as Cedric Wright, of the 7700 block of South Union Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Officers filtered in and out of the three-story brick apartment building on the south side of 77th Street between Halsted and Green streets late Sunday. They taped a crime scene in front of the building and in the street on the west half of the block.
No arrests had been made, police said.
