A 23-year-old Carpentersville man who tried to disarm a police officer after being found with packaged cannabis and prescription drugs last week has been charged with several felonies, police said.
Jordon D. Linson-Currie was pulled over about 3 p.m. Thursday at Virginia Road and Darlington Lane in Crystal Lake for using an electronic device, a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office news release said. When officers smelled marijuana in his car, they conducted a search and found 59 grams of individually packaged cannabis, 13 bars of prescription Xanax, a scale, packaging material and $620 in cash, the release said.
Linson-Currie fought officers as they were taking him into custody and he attempted unsuccessfully to grab a deputy’s gun, the release said.
Linson-Currie is charged with felony counts of attempting to disarm a peace officer, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of 30 to 100 grams of cannabis and resisting arrest.
Bail was set at $70,000.
