For many residents, last weekend’s Montgomery Festival in Montgomery was a nice chance to relax and have some fun.
The parade on Sunday on Mill Street drew a good crowd.
“Our granddaughter is going to be in the parade and that’s one of the things why we are here, and we just like to get out,” said John Brasfield.
He said he was also interested in the cars on display at the festival.
“I like looking at the antique cars, but I’m not into Mustangs, Corvettes or Trans Ams. I like the classics, the old Buicks and Chevys,” he said.
Bruce Chudacoff said he was enjoying his time working on the stage at the festival.
“I tell everyone the thing to do is be on time,” he said. “I was here at 10 for a noon show.”
He said Montgomery Festival was “very impressive and very big.”
“I saw the car show as I drove in, then crossed the bridge and saw all the food — it is a great day,” he said.
Trustee Steve Jungermann said the festival want off well this year.
“We had good weather, a little rain … but it was still great,” he said.
He said the goal of village officials is to make the event “more family friendly each year.”
The event included a parade, carnival rides, food booths, music, the annual Montgomery’s Got Talent show, craft areas and more. A fireworks show ended the festival Sunday evening.
