At about 8:35 a.m. as the bank opened, two men entered the branch at 2025 Milwaukee Ave., according to Riverwoods Police Chief Bruce Dayno.
An FBI alert described the incident as a “takeover bank robbery” and said a handgun may have been used. The men made off with an undisclosed amount of money, Dayno said.
The first suspect wore a black hat, dark-colored face covering, a black jacket and blue gloves, according to the FBI. The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sunglasses, a red bandana and blue gloves.
The men should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the alert.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests. Anyone with information about the robbery should contact the FBI’s Chicago field office at 312-421-6700.
