The little-known Chipola River is unique in Florida, which is why the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is highlighting it in the new video, “FLOW: the Chipola River Story.”

The spring-fed river in the Florida Panhandle has the only naturally reproducing population of shoal bass in the state. The fish are genetically unique and have a limited geographic range.

International Game Fish Association world record-holder Meredith McCord is featured in the video as she fishes the river with a spinning rod and fly rod. McCord even caught world-record shoal bass and black crappie while taping the video.
