Ray Rush, the new water slide at Aquatica, is set to debut to the public on Saturday, SeaWorld Orlando has announced.

The family raft ride starts from a platform 60 feet high and then goes through a distinct series of elements, including a water-jet launch, a spin through a giant sphere and a slide through the ray-inspired open-air half-pipe.

The half-pipe “is going to be the centerpiece of the whole ride, and really just provide that thrill sensation, the big wow factor,” David Heaton, Aquatica’s vice president, said earlier this year.

Ray Rush replaces Hooroo Run, a straight-line slide dismantled last year. It shares a loading platform with Walhalla Wave, which was closed during the Ray Rush construction but reopened this weekend.

The ride will have a minimum height requirement of 42 inches and will accommodate up to four riders per raft.

It’s the first major addition to Aquatica since Ihu’s Breakaway Falls opened in 2015.
