The White Sox snapped their two-game Cactus League skid Saturday with a 9-5 victory over the Royals.

The Sox scored six runs in the top of the sixth to erase a deficit and then cruised to improve their spring record to 5-4.

At the plate: Luis Basabe belted his first home run and Matt Davidson knocked in two runs. Davidson, Tyler Saladino and Ryan Cordell each had two hits.

On the mound: Michael Kopech started and allowed an unearned run in 2 1/3 innings. The right-hander gave up two hits while walking one and striking out three. T.J. House was roughed up, yielding four runs — two earned — on three hits with two walks in one inning. Winning pitcher Rob Scahill struck out three in 1 2/3 innings. Jordan Stephens earned a three-inning save.

In the field: The Sox continued to struggle, committing three errors and misplaying several other balls, including a popup that landed near the mound. Of the Royals’ five runs, two were earned.

Prospect spotlight – Jordan Stephens: Selected in the fifth round in 2015, the right-hander pitched three scoreless innings and allowed one hit while striking out two.
