A man in his 30s suffered a gunshot wound to his arm at a club in Markham early Saturday morning, police said.

Markham Police Chief Mack Sanders said the call came in just before 4 a.m. from the Justice Social Club near 167th Street and California Avenue.

He said the victim was treated and released from a hospital.

Sanders said the club has been closed pending a city hearing.

Authorities said police have responded to dozens of fights inside the club or its parking lot during the last several years, but one alderman previously told the Southtown the club typically reopens after its owner pays related fines to the village.
