Guess I’m behind the curve but I still like free trade. I buy things, as I am sure you do too. Free trade opens markets here in the United States but it also lets our companies sell their goods overseas. This country has tried the America First model before with heavy tariffs. The results were economic catastrophe. Raising consumer prices a lot and limiting exports to countries that raised their tariffs in response.
Oh, and I’m also in favor of a liberal, (small L), immigration policy. Immigration grows markets which, in turn, grows economies which stimulates innovation and production. Call me old fashioned but I like these things.
