The family of a teen who was shot and killed during an apparent attempted armed robbery at a gas station in Dolton on Dec. 28 is increasing the reward for information leading to a conviction in the case to $20,000.
Arshad Vahora, 19, was killed while working as a Clark gas station attendant at the corner of 142nd Street and Langley Avenue.
Initially, Vahora’s family offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case, with Dolton Mayor Riley Rogers and community activist Andrew Holmes contributing an additional $1,000 each.
Vahora’s uncle, Firoz Vohra, announced on Facebook Friday that the family was increasing the reward to $20,000.
Another employee, a 55-year-old man, also was shot and injured during the incident.
