Q: Where did you grow up and go to school?

A: I grew up in India. I came to America 15 years ago. I went to Rosel School of Cosmetology.

Q: Why did you want to come to America?

A: I didn’t know I was coming to America because I was small. I came with my family.

Q: What part of India are you from?

A: I’m from Gujarat.

Q: What did you study in beauty school?

A: I learned about hair, nails, skin, waxing and facials.

Q: What kinds of services are offered at Divine Beauty Salon?

A: We offer waxing, facials, threading, henna and eyelashes. I do it all.

Q: What are you known for?

A: I’m known for my threading.

Q: How has the community reacted so far to Divine Beauty Salon?

A: We have very good reviews on Facebook and Google. The community has responded very well.

Q: How long have you been open?

A: We’ve been open since October.

Q: How do you incorporate your culture with your beauty services?

A: Henna is cultural at Indian weddings, but now it’s become more fashionable. People like the designs and the color. They like it just to have fun. Threading is also like art.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: I like to swim. I like to play badminton. I like to go shopping and hang out with my friends.
