To the editor:
The League of Women Voters of Winnetka Northfield Kenilworth is delighted to note the outstanding success of Winnetka’s first Music Festival and North Shore Art League’s annual juried exhibit. Many individuals and organizations contributing to the two-day event, including village trustees and staff; the park district; police, fire and public works departments — plus numerous businesses, organizations and volunteer residents. This combination created a welcoming and entertaining environment for an estimated total of 16,000 attendees at the festival.
The League of Women Voters holds a position supporting a healthy business climate in Winnetka. For more than a year, village residents worked to develop a downtown master plan that, when completed last year, was incorporated into Winnetka’s visionary 2020 plan for the village. With activities such as the music festival and others to come, the implementation of the downtown master plan at work as part of the 2020 plan is becoming a reality, heading Winnetka toward being an increasingly dynamic and appealing community.
On behalf of the League of Women Voters of Winnetka Northfield Kenilworth, congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s event, and best wishes to the village for many additional successful activities in the future.
Sincerely,
