A 20-year-old Aurora man was shot Thursday evening on the city’s East Side, police said Friday.

About 7:40 p.m. Thursday, the man was shot once near Sherman Avenue and Pearl Street, police said in a statement posted to Facebook.

A man and a woman, both acquaintances of the man who was shot, apparently dropped him off at an Aurora hospital as police officers were responding to the call of shots fired, according to the statement.

The parties involved were all largely uncooperative, and police don’t know where the man was when he was shot or if he may have been inside a vehicle, according to the statement.

Police said the only suspect information is that someone may have fired the shots from inside an aqua or teal four-door car similar to a Lincoln that was occupied by three males.

The man sustained a single gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, according to the statement. One other car, unoccupied and parked in the area, was struck by gunfire, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call Aurora police at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.
