Officials from the Lake County sheriff’s office said Thursday they have arrested a Waukegan man who sold heroin to another man who subsequently overdosed in Newport Township and was saved by deputies.
Following the revival of the overdose victim on March 10, the Lake County sheriff’s office’s Gang Task Force began an investigation to determine the supplier responsible for selling the drugs, according to Sgt. Christopher Covelli.

As a result of the investigation, Gang Task Force detectives identified Londale T. Hall, 24, of Waukegan, as the drug dealer, reports said.
In the days following the overdose, Gang Task Force detectives made several undercover purchases of heroin from Hall, according to Covelli, a sheriff’s office spokesman.
Hall was arrested Wednesday and charged with five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, reports said.
As of Thursday afternoon, Hall remained at the Lake County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. He has a bond court appearance scheduled Monday.
Hall’s arrest followed an incident the evening of March 10 in which sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Hunt Club Road and Millburn Road in Newport Township for a report of an unresponsive person in a vehicle.
The victim, who authorities said was a 29-year-old man from Trevor, Wis., was unconscious and not breathing, according to authorities.
Covelli said deputies learned the man had ingested heroin before becoming unresponsive, and three sheriff’s officials revived him through the use of CPR and multiple doses of the opiate antidote naloxone.
The man then began breathing on his own, regained consciousness and was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he is expected to make a full recovery.
Covelli said the man was the sixth person revived from an overdose this year by sheriff’s office personnel.
