The rally on was organized by a newly formed group Indivisible La Grange/La Grange Park.
“We wanted to get the community out and see who supports and shares our values,” said Julie Bunnell of La Grange, one of the group’s founders.
“All of Trump’s policies concern us,” said another of the organizers, Ellen MacEntee of La Grange.

She said concerns of the group include the president’s proposal to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border, the immigration ban, executive orders and lack of transparency.
The rally drew people of all ages on a brisk night at which some elementary school-age children climbed on the edge of the fountain to display hand-written signs and shout such slogans as “If you build a wall, my generation will knock it down.”

Mary Brigid Hayes of La Grange Park and her daughter Molly, 14, attended.
“We oppose the executive orders limiting immigration,” said Mary Brigid Hayes. “We welcome refugees.”
She said the immigration ban will not make Americans safer.
“We think rather than make us safe it will increase the possibility of harm coming here and when we travel abroad,” she said.
Bunnell said her group, which only recently formed, has about 250 members.
