Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

If you were thinking it seems like it hasn’t snowed much in January, you would be right. The total, as measured at O’Hare International Airport, is half an inch. A total that low is pretty unusual. Only seven years since 1885 saw totals of less than an inch. Normal is 10.8 inches. Why the lack of snow? Well, it’s been warm and unremarkable, according to meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Romeoville. The area hasn’t seen the usual blasts of arctic air.
