Hungry concertgoers at Schubas Tavern will have to look further than next door to find food, at least for a while.
Harmony Grill, the restaurant adjacent to and run by the bar and music venue, will close after service Sunday, Jan. 22, according to social media posts from the owners. Calls to Harmony and Schubas were not immediately returned today.
Harmony Grill, particularly popular for brunch, has been a Lakeview staple since December 1995, so it’s not surprising that Schubas has already named a successor. A Facebook post on the Lincoln Hall + Schubas joint page says Harmony will be replaced by Tied House, a “modern concept” with a simple menu focused on Midwestern ingredients. The name refers to the building’s history. Schubas was a tied house for Schlitz, meaning it only sold the brewery’s beer. The brand’s terra cotta logo still graces the facade.
No timetable for the renovations or opening has been revealed yet. We’ll update you as we hear back from the owners.
