Northbrook Court employees must park beyond the red line farthest from the shopping center to allow customers available parking near the stores. However, I believe Old Orchard shopping center employees pull into the closest spaces every day. Therefore, employee’s cars fill the spaces near the stores for the entire day with no turnover. Customers are the people who end up having to park in the outer parking spaces.

Old Orchard shopping center opened the week prior to Christmas at 8 a.m. I drove into the Macy’s lot at 7:50 a.m. and watched what appeared to me to be employees parking in the nearest locations, including the handicapped spaces. During the year, I have arrived at 9:50 a.m. and watched these apparent employees park nearest the stores. Therefore, unless I arrive at Old Orchard shopping center before stores open, I will not have parking near the stores.

If Northbrook Court can do it, so can Old Orchard.
