Matt Brolley made it official – he is running again for mayor of Montgomery.

Monday was the last day for candidates to file paperwork to be on the ballot for the April 4 election.

Brolley was the only person to file to run for mayor. After longtime Mayor Marilyn Michelini retired from the job in 2013, Brolley ran for mayor against Trustee Bill Keck and won. Keck, who had been a trustee for eight years, gave up his board seat to run for mayor.

Keck filed to be on the ballot in April, seeking to reclaim his post as trustee. He is one of seven who filed to run for three open positions on the Village Board. Incumbents Denny Lee, Steve Jungermann and Theresa Sperling are running. Challengers include Planning and Zoning Board member Tom Betsinger, Joshua Salisbury and Glen Macey.

Village Clerk Penny Fitzpatrick is running unopposed to keep her current seat.
