Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

There is an election coming up early next year for trustees and mayor of Morton Grove. For two terms of almost 8 years, we have seen the current village administration continue to struggle plugging up the empty lots and stemming the flow of businesses out of the village. Taxes are creeping up. Video gambling has changed the image of the village from a family-oriented place to raise children. Village meetings are meaningless as the one party in power ratifies anything the mayor proposes, usually with almost no discussion.

We need some new faces in village hall, people with better business sense who can revive our economy and make the village the friendlier village we all moved into. Residents have to step up to the plate and run for office. Time is critical as required petition signatures have to be in by the second week of December. This is your last chance to make significant changes in Morton Grove for the next four years.

Contact the Cook County Clerk for instructions on how to get on the ballot, but don’t wait too long as the deadline approaches.
