Go, Cubs fans, go — to a museum or two while you’re downtown.

That’s the hope of at least two cultural institutions taking advantage of the massive influx of people expected for the team’s World Series victory parade by offering discount admissions Friday.

The Adler Planetarium will be giving $5 off any admission package to a Friday visitor wearing any bit of Cubs gear. That knocks adult general admission down to $7 and a Basic Pass down to $19.95.

Shedd Aquarium, further west on the Museum Campus, is offering fans in Cub gear an $8 discount on a Shedd Pass, an upgraded admission that gets visitors into Waters of the World, Amazon Rising, Wild Reef, Polar Play Zone, Abbott Oceanarium and Caribbean Reef. The discounted Shedd Pass will cost $22.95.

Meanwhile, the Museum of Science and Industry is giving a $7 discount to anybody showing up in Cubs gear Saturday and Sunday.

The planetarium is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, the aquarium from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information is at sheddaquarium.org and adlerplanetarium.org.
