player ready...Lake Forest police are still investigating a complaint about a sex offender who was volunteering at a local church, police said Wednesday afternoon.
The person who made the complaint was concerned because of the sex offender’s proximity to the church’s preschool, police said.
As of Oct. 24, the registered sex offender no longer volunteers at the church in the 700 block of Sheridan Road. There was no indication that the offender had access to or contact with any of the children in the preschool, police said.
Investigators are still gathering information and statements on the situation to determine if a violation of the Sex Offender Registry act occurred, Police Commander Craig Lepkowsi said.
