The following items were taken from Winnetka and Northfield police department reports and press releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Northfield

Burglary

*A resident of the 200 block of Crestwood Court on Oct. 31 reported they came home and discovered jewelry had been taken. The value is less than $7,500 and the case is under investigation.

Possession

*Mykel D. Stewart, 36, of the 2100 block of Clarridge Lane in Northbrook, was charged Oct. 26 with excessive speeding in the 2200 block of Willow Road, police said. He was also charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Winnetka

Criminal damage

*Silver spray paint was used to write graffiti on a concrete sewer water spout in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road, according to an Oct. 24 report. Public Works was notified for removal, and repair costs are $300.

*A sharp instrument was used to damage the passenger side door of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Garland Avenue, according to an Oct. 24 report. Repair costs are unknown.

Fraud

*A resident of the 200 block of Walnut Street on Oct. 25 reported that numerous fraudulent transactions were made from their Chase business checking accounts. The amount of loss exceeds $10,000.

*A resident of the 100 block of Fuller Lane on Oct. 25 reported that someone used their personal identifiers to open a Chase Amazon credit card. The card was not activated and was canceled. There is no reported loss.

*A resident of the 1200 block of Ash Street on Oct. 27 reported that their personal identifiers were used to open an Amazon credit card account. There is no reported loss at this time.

*A resident of the 1200 block of Ash Street on Oct. 30 reported that their personal identifiers were used in an attempt to open a Chase Amazon credit card account. There is no reported loss at this time.

Retail theft

*An Aerin picture frame and a Ralph Lauren decorating book were stolen from a business in the 800 block of Green Bay Road, according to an Oct. 26 report. The amount of loss is $200.
