As expected, Northwestern will play its 2017-18 home men’s basketball games at Allstate Arena while Welsh-Ryan Arena undergoes a $110 million renovation.
Allstate Arena is 16 miles and at least a 40-minute drive in light-to-medium traffic from Evanston, but the choice makes sense with DePaul basketball moving to a new home at McCormick Place.
“The venue has a rich college basketball tradition in the Chicagoland area,” Northwestern athletic director Jim Phillips said in a press release. “I know that our fans will enjoy cheering on our team at Allstate Arena.”
