Bruno Muro, the Aurora man accused of leaving a fatal overdose victim in a field earlier this year, remains in Kane County Jail a week after a judge lowered his bail in the case.
Muro, 21, has been indicted on one count of concealment of a death in connection to the discovery of a Yorkville woman’s body behind an abandoned business on Lake Street in Aurora in early May. The woman, described to investigators as a heroin addict, was driven around the city’s East Side by Muro before she overdosed, records show. Authorities believe she had died before being placed in the field by Muro, who is not accused of providing the drugs to the woman. Prosecutors charged Muro in July.
During a hearing last week, Kane County Judge John Barsanti reduced Muro’s bail to $5,000 after his attorney filed to have it lowered from $25,000. However, Muro had not posted bond as of Wednesday. Should he be released, Muro is prohibited from using drugs or alcohol, according to court documents.
An Oct. 12 court date has been scheduled for Muro to be arraigned.
Aurora police continue to investigate the woman’s death.
