Did someone say “free tacos?”
In less than a year, beachy and urban-inspired cantina Rojo Gusano has opened two locations, and on Friday, it’ll celebrate its third.
Helmed by chef/partner Dudley Nieto, the taco haven is unlocking the doors to its new Ravenswood location, featuring the same menu as the other two locations in Albany Park and Belmont-Cragin. The new 80-seater is currently BYO, with a 30-seat outdoor patio. A representative says a location-specific menu will be rolled out in a few weeks.
In the meantime, the location’s grand opening falls in line with Mexican Independence Day on Sept. 16, which means Nieto is dishing out free tacos noon until 10 p.m. Choose from 11 global flavors, like green curry shrimp tacos or Korean beef barbecue tacos with kimchi, cilantro and sesame seeds. The promotion is only valid at the Ravenswood spot and is limited to one taco per person.
