Montgomery Village Board members discussed the annexation of 18 acres for a new trucking facility along Aucutt Road.
The board will probably vote on the measure at its next meeting.
Old Dominion Freight Lines has bought the land and wants to annex into the village to build a warehouse and distribution facility.
The facility would bring more than 100 jobs to Montgomery, village officials said.
Plans call for a 51,000-square-foot building that would be divided into office space and a freight distribution center. Plans also call for an accessory structure with a fuel station for the purpose of fueling trucks associated with the business.
If the plan gets final approval, Old Dominion officials said they hope to have the facility up and running by the end of the year.
Old Dominion recently withdrew a petition to build a truck depot near Ferry Road Farms subdivision at Meridian and Sunrise roads in an unincorporated area near Aurora, after residents objected to the plan. Residents said they were concerned about traffic and noise to be generated by the proposed facility.
