Aurora police investigators pulled “numerous” fingerprints from inside the KFC restaurant where a gunman wounded three employees in September 2014, leading prosecutors to successfully request additional print samples from three suspects in the shooting.

In recent court rulings over the last week, a judge has ordered Claude Jackson, Chase West and Joshua Scott to provide finger and palm print samples which will be used by an examiner to make a “conclusive comparison” to prints collected during the investigation.

“Investigating authorities responded to the scene of the shooting and collected numerous fingerprint lifts from inside the restaurant,” prosecutors wrote in court filings.

Jackson, West and Scott each face attempted murder and other counts in connection to the shooting. Prosecutors allege West and Jackson entered the restaurant and demanded money. When the three employees said they couldn’t access the cash register, Jackson fired single shots at each employee, wounding one employee in the stomach, a second in the leg and the third in the arm and body, authorities previously said. After the shooting, the two men fled to a waiting Cadillac Escalade driven by Scott.

All three men remain in Kane County Jail and have pleaded not guilty. They each have subsequently been charged with battery tied to physical altercations involving other inmates in the jail.

West, 22, is scheduled to return to court Sept. 29, while 47-year-old Jackson has an appearance planned for Oct. 5. No new court date information was immediately available for Scott, according to court records.
