A man wearing a curly wig and a golfer’s hat robbed a Lakeview East bank Saturday afternoon in what is believed to be at least his second holdup in the last month, according to the FBI.

The man robbed a Fifth Third Bank branch at 3601 N. Broadway about 1:55 p.m., according to an FBI spokesman.

The man was described as a black man with a slim build, standing about 5-foot-7. He wore a curly wig, a golfer’s hat, a white golf shirt and sunglasses.

The man also is suspected of robbing a Fifth Third Bank branch on the Near North Side on July 12, according to the FBI. About 3:30 p.m. on July 12, a man who appeared to be in his 60s entered the bank at 29 W. Division St. and handed a teller a note that demanded money. He did not show a weapon or imply he had one, police said.

In that robbery, the man was described as a black man about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 with a slim build. He wore a black wig, dark sunglasses, a “golf-style hat,” black pants and a black jacket, police and the FBI said.
