Village buying new broadcast video system
Technical problems caused by Lincolnwood’s 10-year-old broadcasting system used by village staff to live stream and record some public meetings at village hall will be replaced with modern equipment the village will purchase this year for $88,900, officials said.
A contract to buy the new equipment from Wood Dale-based OSA Integrated Solutions, Inc. was approved as part of Tuesday’s consent agenda.
The new system will include a video conferencing feature, an improved operating system, offsite remote access, and high-definition video cameras, according to the village.
The village began to consider replacing its current broadcast equipment following a series of outages and technical problems that have occurred during the past two years.
Annually, the village streams 60 hours of live content online and via major cable providers for public view of Village Board, Plan Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and District 74 School Board meetings.
The new equipment will be paid for with funds from the Public, Educational, Government (PEG) Capital fee fund, according to the village.

The contract renewal marks the seventh year in a row the village has partnered with the bus company for transportation services offered during the summer.
The village will be charged a 2.5 percent increase from last year’s cost, which was budgeted at $23,000 budgeted for day camp transportation and $1000 for swim meet transportation, according to the village.
While the village covers the initial costs for the bus service, participation fees are later recovered for the fill cost, according to the village.

Central Park Avenue within two weeks being issued a building permit. Co-owner of Begyle, Kevin Cary, said he plans to file an application for the permit by the end of May.
